About Gina:

Gina Horkey is a married, millennial mama to two precocious kiddos from Minnesota. Additionally, she’s the founder of Horkey HandBook, a website geared towards helping others find or become a kickass virtual assistant.

Gina’s background includes making a living as a professional writer, an online business marketing consultant and a decade of experience in the financial services industry.

In 2014, Gina realized how unfulfilled she was in her career in personal finance. On paper she had it GREAT, yet she was miserable.

Gina’s husband had quit his job the year prior to become a SAHD and she felt a lot of pressure as the sole breadwinner. She finally allowed herself the freedom to “consider something different” and started a freelance writing side hustle turned virtual assistance biz in May 2014.

Gina worked early mornings (like 4am before nursing her baby!) and weekends to build up enough clientele to leave my day job behind in December, 2014.
